We were given a selection of songs to choose from. I chose “Speigel Im Speigel” written by Avro Part for a piano and violin. “Speigel Im Speigel” in german means “mirror in the mirror” so I photographed the movement of paint in water and used the images to create an animation that maps the tonic triads of the music, endlessly repeated with small variations as if reflected back and forth.
The print based images you see here were put together for my portfolio and exhibition, each circle represents a set of triads.
